Crazy to say this was my last full week at home before I move out! I left yesterday for a week-long trip on the East Coast (more on that below) and then I will return to Boise for just three days before moving to Denver… I wish I could have enjoyed my hometown a little more the past few days, but I spent most of the week trying to tackle a long to-do list, including, most notably, packing for my move. Not too many outfits to share in today’s recap, but I did manage to throw on something cute at least once or twice.

Monday, May 23

First full day back at home! I slept in and felt SO rested after sleeping in my own bed for the first time in five months. I just threw on athletic clothes and spent the whole day starting the packing process for my move to Denver, interrupted only by a walk with my parents in the afternoon through the Boise foothills (pictured above). Oh, and my dad and I paused for an epic ping pong match; I lost, not surprisingly.

I got dressed to head to the dentist’s office this morning, and then spent the whole day packing again. My other big task this week has been clearing out my craft corner in the garage—throwing out old crusty paint, finally recycling all the scraps I saved for “projects” that I’ll never actually use, etc. Of course I’ve packed and moved several times for college, but I’m realizing it’s a very different mindset now that I’m moving out “permanently”. I’ve had to start boxing up things I never would have used/brought to school with me, like craft supplies, but I also have to remind myself I will have very little limited space in my new apartment… decisions, decisions.

Since I already started packing my clothes, I put together this outfit based on pieces that were still laying out—several compliments from the ladies in the dentist’s office, especially on the brightly colored pants.

Floral Top: JCPenney, $18 ($0.72 per wear), last worn here | Olive Green Utility Jacket: Nordstrom Rack, $30 ($0.32 per wear), last worn here | Mustard Pants: JCPenney, $20 ($0.91 per wear), last worn here | Brown Sandals: DSW, $45 ($0.85 per wear), last worn here

My mom and I went on a walk this morning, and then my parents and I met up with some family friends for dinner downtown. Fun fact: the last time I wore this exact outfit was in Toronto in the summer of 2018! I remember wearing it to the aquarium and CN Tower.

Teal Mock-Neck Top: JCPenney, $11 ($0.79 per wear), last worn here | Striped Skirt: Cabi, $90 ($8.18 per wear), last worn here | Black Sandals: Dillard’s, $30 ($0.50 per wear), last worn here | Elephant Purse: Francesca’s, $20 ($0.42 per wear), last worn here

Thursday, May 26

Just another day of packing and organizing… I threw on the same outfit as yesterday to grab drinks downtown with a friend. We got flights of cider at a place I had never been before—super fun!

Friday, May 27

You guessed it, more packing today! Nothing too interesting to report—didn’t even put a real outfit on since most of my clothes are packed now, whoops.

I spent the morning doing some last-minute chores and then headed off to the airport to visit my friend in Boston! One of my family’s best friends is getting married in Rhode Island next weekend, and my college friend just moved to the Boston area… I figured it was the perfect way to kill two birds with one stone—I had to fly out for the wedding anyways, so might as well meet up with my friend, too, while on the East Coast. My second flight from Denver to Boston was delayed two hours, so I didn’t land until past one am… bit of a long day but I’m just super excited to be here!

Sunday, May 29

Since we didn’t get to bed ‘til three am last night, we slept in this morning before heading out on a hike through this beautiful forested area. Buttt the hike ended up being twice as long as we expected because we got just a little lost… Afterwards, we walked around one of Boston’s outskirts, had dinner at the apartment, and played card games the rest of the night.

Our plan for tomorrow is to go to the beach, so I wanted to wear this long sleeve dress to prevent my shoulders and chest from getting burnt before a long day in the sunshine. The boho vibes of this outfit don’t really scream “East Coast” to me but I think it’s cute nonetheless.

Floral Dress: Francesca’s, $5 ($0.50 per wear), last worn here | Brown Sandals: $19 ($0.26 per wear), last worn here | Sunglasses: Loft, $30 ($2.00 per wear), last worn here

Hope you had a great week, and enjoy the long weekend!

Miles of smiles,

Grace
