Hard to believe this is my second-to-last weekly recap from Scotland… As excited as I am to see my family and fly to Las Vegas for my brother’s wedding, I’m really starting to feel the sadness of leaving this beautiful place! I’m trying to schedule time with all my friends to say goodbye while squeezing in a few last adventures. This week, for example, my friend and I went to Dublin and had an absolute blast! Check out my outfits and other happenings below.
Monday, April 18
My friend and I took an Uber to the airport bright and early this morning for our 8:30 am flight to Dublin. Did you know you can take water through security here? That was absolutely baffling to me. Once we arrived in the capital of Ireland, we took a bus into town, wandered some of the main streets, explored Trinity College (including the Book of Kells), and spent the afternoon touring the Guinness factory. Of course, no night in Ireland is complete without a pub meal and traditional Irish music.

We grabbed a supermarket breakfast and ate it on a bench along the Liffey River. It was sunny and so beautiful—we really lucked out with the weather all week! We decided to take an hour bus ride to a viewpoint called Killiney, after which we spent the whole afternoon lounging on the beach before meeting some friends for dinner. This pink sweater and black pants combo isn’t the most creative or stylish, but it has become my go-to for days out, since I always know it will be comfy and warm enough.
Wednesday, April 20
We did a day trip today to Blarney Castle and Cork, which was the whole reason I wanted to go to Ireland in the first place (more on that, and the entire trip, in tomorrow’s blog post). Since we flew the cheapest airline to Ireland and could only bring one small bag, I wore the same exact outfit today as I did yesterday. We spent the evening chatting at a pub before the cutest guy came to play some traditional tunes. I lovvve Irish music and quickly learned the lyrics to some of the quintessential Irish songs.

Thursday, April 21
Same outfit as Monday. After a long day yesterday and some very restless nights in our hostel, my friend and I slept in a little this morning. We wandered around a museum, lounged in a park, and ate linner at the oldest pub in Dublin. We had a late flight back to Glasgow before catching the last bus back to our flats. It was a great trip but I was very excited to sleep in my own bed!

Friday, April 22
I slept in really late today and was extremely lazy before hopping on a brief Zoom meeting with my advisor in the afternoon. Later in the evening, I met up with some friends to spend the night dancing at some of Glasgow’s popular clubs (including the salsa dancing bar, woohoo!). This is by far the naughtiest top I own, but I do enjoy wearing it occasionally for a night out. Gotta spice up my wardrobe while I’m still young, I suppose.

Saturday, April 23
I grabbed a late lunch with some girlfriends this afternoon and then went to a One Republic concert in the evening! The concert was so much fun, and there were only three songs I didn’t already know. It was sunny and warm today, so I was very excited to finally break out this dress and my sandals. At least I made use of them once before flying home…

Sunday, April 24
I was a little too lazy today even for me, but at least I’m finally getting my weekly recap up. I never got dressed or even left the house, yuck! Thank goodness I have plans to play tennis with a friend tomorrow because I really need to get my body moving.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by the blog today, and I hope you had a great week!
Miles of smiles,
Grace
