After spending the day driving, my mom and I finally made it back home with (almost) all of my college stuff! I had to leave a few of my school items at my grandpa’s farm, but I was quite proud of myself for the pack job I did. I love puzzles, and the best kind of puzzle is trying to fit as much crap as possible into a small car. This pic may not look like much, but boy was my trunk full! It was a fun week filled with lots of exciting activities, and it feels so good to finally be back home.

My mom and I drove out to Seven Magic Mountains at sunrise to take the fun photos seen in my November 2021 Month in Review blog post. I spent the day working on my Denver travel guide, completing a few other to-do list items, and going to the grocery store with my mom before heading to my aunt’s house for a family dinner. I’ve worn this outfit a few times and feel really cute in it, but I’m starting to wonder if it’s too much black, even with the baby blue bodysuit layered under the denim jacket.

I spent the day at the office working on the literature review for my thesis and catching up in my Passion Planner—I barely used my planner at all last quarter! So unlike me, but I suppose it’s a testament to how busy I was while at school. My mom and I went for a walk in the afternoon, and the two of us visited the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory in the evening to see their cactus garden Christmas light display! It was so unique to see a bunch of cacti covered in Christmas lights, and I really enjoyed the fact that it was 60 degree weather. My family usually goes to the Idaho Botanical Garden’s Christmas light show this time of year, but it’s always SO cold walking around at night in the winter. The Vegas version was a pretty great upgrade.

My mom said this outfit looked stupid because of the shoes. Of course, the static cling making the pants stick to my legs wasn’t helping, either. I love this jumpsuit and wear it all the time, but I never know what shoes to pair with it! The annoying cropped length makes it difficult to find suitable footwear other than sandals.

After a morning in the office, my aunt invited me to her house to spend the afternoon crafting. I used to craft with her every time I visited Vegas but haven’t done it in years… It was so fun! Plus, she has the most *amazing* craft space, so I always feel like I’m on some TLC craft show when I visit. My mom and grandpa came over for dinner before the three of us drove home for the evening.

My grandpa drove my mom and me out to one of his job sites this morning before we all went home early for the day. I did a crossword puzzle poolside (gotta love winter in Vegas), and then my mom and I decided to hot tub a little. After dinner, we went to opening night of the National Finals Rodeo! More on that to come in tomorrow’s blog post. I thought today’s outfit was cute—it’s very similar to Monday’s outfit in terms of pieces, but I liked how the polka dot skirt broke up all the black that I found problematic in Monday’s look.

After a short morning at the office, my mom and I went to one of the Cowboy Christmas shows that are in town to cater to the rodeo crowd. We had a lot of fun browsing the vendors selling cowboy boots, hats, big buckles, and even some fringe jackets and bellbottom pants. I was in a *mood* today, but thankfully that turned around when my mom and I went to see Barry Manilow’s Christmas show at the Westgate Hotel! We had so much fun listening to all his hits, and I knew even more Barry songs than I thought I did. I posted a pic of a Barry Manilow cutout and me on my Instagram stories, and THE Barry Manilow reposted it! I couldn’t believe it. Probably a dumb thing to get excited about but I was fangirling a little. His voice still sounded amazing, and he was a total goofball—he shared lots of good one-liners in between songs. My only complaint was that the band was too loud, so it was hard to hear Barry’s voice at times.

I’m usually not a huge fan of camo, but I actually thought this outfit was super cute, even though it’s on the plain side. The pattern mixing with the leopard belt really jazzes it up! I changed from this outfit into the green sequin top I wore in this post for the Barry Manilow show.

Saturday, December 4

My grandpa, my mom, and I had a slow morning before driving the few hours to my grandpa’s farm and stopping for lunch on the way there. I left all my belongings from college at the farm on my way to Vegas a few weeks ago, so I spent the afternoon repacking everything into my car, which I had also left at the farm. I couldn’t quite fit it all (we had two cars leaving from Denver and now only had my car to take back to Boise), so my parents will have to pick up the last of my items next time they’re at the farm. Afterwards, we had a lazy evening watching The Santa Clause on TV! A Christmas classic.

Sunday, December 5

My mom and I said goodbye to my grandpa before hitting the road and driving home! My dad made us dinner and my brother came over to join us, so it was really fun to see both of them. I unloaded everything from the car and now have the task of unpacking three and a half years-worth of college living! Not sure where I’m going to put all my stuff for the next 6+ months as I study abroad and then figure out what’s next… My room might just be indefinitely filled with large boxes; we shall see.

    1. I really need to get some white sneakers! I bought a pair from Target over the summer but sadly had to return them because they rubbed my feet funny.

  1. Sounds like a busy week but lots of fun with the family. Sometimes I don’t think about college since I am knee deep in adulting but I sure do miss those times. My favorite outfit is your jumpsuit. I don’t think it looks stupid with your shoes. I actually wear my cropped jumpsuits with slip ons like this.
