Boy oh boy, this week has been all over the place! I spent most of it house/pet sitting (introducing the most adorable pup above), took my finals on Monday and Tuesday, and have been having a little too much fun this weekend celebrating my boyfriend’s and his best friend’s graduation. Needless to say, I will be spending the next few days catching up on sleep and exercising to burn off all the good food from the last several meals, ha!

I spent most of today studying before taking my Climatology final exam in the early afternoon, finishing my blog post, and making dinner. I took the doggo for a nice walk around the neighborhood and then spent the night watching a movie and studying for my other two exams.

My friend gave me this dress as a hand-me-down last week, and although it’s super cute, I’m sad to say it’s too short on me! It just hits me at a very unflattering spot on my thighs… However, I love the pattern and mock-neck, so I think I am going to take my beginner sewing skills and turn this dress into a cute summer top instead—as if I don’t already have too many summer projects as it is.

My final day of junior year!! I spent the morning studying and walking the dog (staying in athletic clothes all day), and then I had two final exams back-to-back from noon ‘til four. I was definitely mentally tired after all that testing but so excited to finish! After a quick dinner, I motored over to a nearby park to play soccer on my older cousin’s intramural team. Co-ed leagues always need more girls to play, so I was very excited to volunteer, even though it was a double-header. I can’t remember the last time I played soccer! I had a major hankering for ice cream afterwards, and thankfully the nearby Super Target was still open past 9pm—I got a tub of the Neapolitan flavor and walked out of there with a new pair of denim shorts, too. Nothing like late-night Target runs, amirite?

My boyfriend drove out to the neighborhood where I was staying this morning and we got coffee together after I walked the pup. In the afternoon, I started working on a Paint by Numbers craft I got through a club at school and quickly became obsessed with it. I painted all night, only pausing for a quick hour-long Zoom awards ceremony in the evening. I stayed up past 1am painting and binged the entire “The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann” series on Netflix, plus two movies! Most of my laundry was air drying today, so I opted to wear the comfy matching set I sewed last summer.

I finally slept in a little this morning before getting straight to work on my blog post. It’s rare that I take blog photos the same day I plan on posting them, but I was so busy with school earlier in the week and too lazy on Wednesday to get my booty outside for some pics. I came back to the house afterwards and spent a few hours getting my blog post up before anxiously returning to my Paint by Numbers… Today I binged all of “Bridgerton” while painting. In the evening, I took the dog for another walk and stumbled across a fun outdoor concert in the neighborhood, complete with food trucks, ice cream, and cotton candy. I scurried home to grab my wallet before heading back out for some tacos and live music. When I got back, I spent the night—you guessed it—painting and watching Netflix, past 2am! I can’t explain my obsession with this craft! But the painting is so intricate that I still have several days-worth of work on it. I keep joking that I will have watched everything on Netflix by the time I’m done with it.

After making pancakes for breakfast, I spent the morning packing and cleaning the house, as today was my last day housesitting. I lounged in the yard for a little bit to work on a crossword puzzle, but with the late nights and all, I ended up coming inside and passing out on the couch for a few hours… The sweet pup was just as sleepy as me and took a nap on my legs! Such a cutie. I went back to my apartment for a little bit, and then the graduation celebrations began—I went out with my boyfriend, his family, and his best friend’s family to a local bar. We closed the place down and ultimately were asked to leave a little after midnight!

Today was graduation day! I loved this outfit so much that I will definitely have to photograph it for its own blog post sometime in the future. I was unsure if my lavender floral purse would clash with my magenta dress, but I actually think the combo is really cute! I had so much fun getting dolled up this morning for the first time in what feels like ages. However, my hair can’t hold a curl to save its life, which is so frustrating. When I crimp my hair, the kinks last for days, but curls won’t stay in longer than a few hours! I don’t understand.

The graduation ceremony was at 11:30am in the university’s sports arena, so we attended that and then took lots of photos afterwards. We were all pretty tired from the previous night’s festivities, so everyone retreated to their respective places for a chill afternoon of nap-taking. In the early evening, the group met up again for a cocktail hour before walking to a late dinner at an Italian restaurant. We closed the house down again, and then all the kids went downtown to a bar for another late night. I have never been a “partier”, and while this weekend has been extremely fun, I am definitely partied out already, haha.

. . . . .

I slept in really late today before I went to lunch with my boyfriend and his friend’s family. I’ve just been having a lazy afternoon since, trying to write this darn blog post but having a very hard time focusing! Like I said, I’m really looking forward to catching up on sleep this coming week and taking it easy.

What was your favorite part of this past weekend? Let me know in the comments! And as always, thanks for stopping by.

  1. What a lovely little doggie! Follow your dreams with dedication and you will surely make all of them come true. Good Luck and all the best for your exam. Aiva 🙂 xxx

  2. I was just stopping by to say hello because I was working on a post for next week, and talking about how to wear a skirt as a top. And I have that trick up my sleeve thanks to you.
In fact, the post is about wearing a too short skirt so your too short dress is almost like it!!
I just love that you’ve learned to sew and there’s so much you can do with that skill.
Have you been on Upstyle yet?? It’s like a pinterest with tutorials for exactly those ideas. You’ll love it!!
