I have officially, completely mentally checked out of school, now that the temps are rising and it feels like summer. Which is so dangerous because I still have finals Monday and Tuesday! But I am seriously the only person I know who actually has finals during exam week—it seems that everyone else either had final projects that are already finished or had professors give exams a week earlier. Unfair, right?! Either way, I am SO close to being done! I admittedly did very little school work this week and had lots of fun instead—which is just as it should be, wouldn’t you say? Here are this week’s outfits!

Monday, May 31

My boyfriend and I started the day in his hometown by getting breakfast with his family before the two of us drove back to Denver. While driving, we saw a big beautiful moose grazing on the side of the road! He had huge antlers and everything. Once I got back to my apartment, I unpacked and was lazy for the rest of the night—didn’t even bother to put on a real outfit today.

Tuesday, June 1

My first class today was cancelled last-minute, so I spent the long, lazy morning catching up in my planner. After my one class in the late afternoon, I met my friend for coffee to catch up, as we hadn’t seen each other in several weeks. It was a little chillier today so I opted for these bright marigold pants, which I like pairing with this floral top to bring out the colors in the pattern. Later in the evening, I went to my boyfriend’s house and we started a fire to roast marshmallows!

I had my last Statistics class this morning, during which my professor made my final exam optional! I’m excited to have one less test to worry about, but it is kind of frustrating thinking about what a joke school has become since the pandemic… Anyway, I gave a presentation in my Climatology class in the afternoon. For dinner, I met up with my older cousin for a beer and a meal! He went to the same college as me, so I love hearing his stories and talking about what’s changed since he attended the university. I’ve worn this dress and sandal combo countless times, but it will forever be a go-to look for me when I’m in a rush.

Thursday, June 3

I spent the morning working on my blog post before heading to my last two classes of the quarter, both of which ended up finishing early. The professors are just as done with this school year as the students! Afterwards, I met up with my friend for one last walk in our favorite nearby park before she moves to grad school. We ended up riding the paddle boats in the pond, which was really fun! We saw a cute lil’ turtle swimming around, as well as some sort of fish putting on quite the show, jumping out of the water continuously for no apparent reason.

Afterwards, I attended an end-of-year dinner for the research journal I was apart of this school year and was horribly underdressed for the event. Spending time with my friend was my top priority, so I didn’t have time to change out of my workout clothes into something nicer before dinner. Usually I’m overdressed, so it was an experience to have it the other way around. But, during the dinner, a researcher with the school approached us and asked if we wanted a private tour of the university’s Covid-19 spit lab! I have been doing spit tests for Covid every other week this whole quarter, as required by the university. It was extremely cool to hear the science and process behind the university’s Covid testing protocols and to see all the fancy equipment. It was such a cool experience!

Friday, June 4

I made a quick trip to my aunt’s house this morning before motoring back to campus for lunch with my friend. Afterwards, I spent the whole afternoon with her helping her pack! If you haven’t heard me talk about it a hundred times before on the blog, I absolutely LOVE packing. I helped her put everything into boxes and then strategically load it all into her car. I’ve always loved puzzles, and packing is just that. Later in the night, I met up with her again to get ice cream and say goodbye before her next big adventure at grad school!

I wore grubby clothes most of the day (ideal for packing) but changed into essentially this look before getting ice cream and then going out with a different group of friends. (I wasn’t able to snap a pic of my outfit the night-of, so I am recycling this photo from a past blog post). The only thing that was different between the outfit I wore on Friday night and the pic above is that I was wearing my white espadrille sandals instead of white heels, and I did not wear a belt. My boyfriend and all his friends commented on how much they LOVED these pants, haha!

Saturday, June 5

Today was super busy! I spent the morning packing some stuff because I am housesitting/pet-sitting this upcoming week. Then I motored over to the house, unloaded my things, and took the doggo for a walk (it was SO hot out today—over 90 degrees). I made a quick run to the grocery store to buy a few ingredients and spent the afternoon making dinner for my grandma and uncle. I made my grandma’s chili relleno casserole recipe and then motored over to her apartment, where the three of us ate outside. I was kind of nervous because I’ve never cooked for anyone other than myself before, but since it was a casserole, I figured it would be pretty hard to screw up. The dinner was yummy and I had a fun time catching up with them!

I knew I wanted to wear something casual and comfy, so style was not as important to me today. I am in desperate need of new shorts, though. I don’t know what I was thinking, but I only have a few pairs of shorts here with me at school, and some of them (like these khaki ones) don’t even fit in the waist. Good fitting shorts are always so hard for me to find! I think I am going to try to thrift some jeans and then just cut them at the length I want because lots of shorts are *too* short for my liking.

. . . . .

Did you do anything fun this week? I have a busy day of work, homework, and blog stuff ahead, but I know I only have today, Monday, and Tuesday before I can finally rest! I just have to push through these final days before summer break.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you have a great Sunday!

  1. I absolutely adore your flamingo t shirt, it’s so cute! Great outfits again. And btw, all the best for your finals and happy summer to you!

  2. Your marigold pants and the fun palazzo pants are my favorites! Last week was another week of babysitting my neighbor’s daughter so we went to the pool several times and then we all went on an adventure to a nearby historic site. This week is 2 sports camps for 2 of the kids and then church on Thursday before a fun mini vacay this weekend. I am adulting tomorrow and getting 2 new tires for my car. The plan is to get a newer car in December so need to get this car to survive till then.
