Sheesh, I’ve been getting these recap posts up later and later each week! When I originally started these weekend blog posts in the fall of last year, I decided to post them on Saturdays because A) I wanted to space out my blog posts, since I usually post on Mondays and Thursdays, and B) I don’t usually get dressed or do anything that interesting on the weekends! So I figured it made more sense to just post these weekly recaps on Saturday mornings. However, I’m now starting to reconsider. Maybe I should post them on Sundays instead? Or just get back to my usual groove and share them on Saturdays again? Let me know if you have a preference in the comments… Now, onto this week’s outfits!

It was rainy and gross out today, so I reached for these yellow pants to brighten the mood. I paired them with my black denim jacket and a grey tee underneath—I chose grey to make the outfit have more neutral shades instead of looking like a bumble bee in just yellow and black. These boots look really stupid with the length of my pants, but they were the best I could do since I don’t have any rainboots with me here at school. I finished class a little early today and had a pleasantly lazy afternoon doodling and catching up in my planner!

I did not do anything special to celebrate Star Wars Day this year, but in case you missed last year’s extravaganza, check out this blog post! Clearly, my parents and I had way too much time on our hands during quarantine. Anyway, I spent the morning today working for my research position, and after class, I had a short club meeting for my school’s research journal before eating dinner with my boyfriend.

I can’t decide if this outfit is cute or not! This pic isn’t great, but my t-shirt is actually navy and white stripes instead of black. I thought it was a summery and fun outfit… but maybe it looks dumb? I don’t know.

Both of my classes were online today, so I had a lazy morning and then spent another unproductive afternoon doodling in my planner instead of actually getting work done… woops. In fact, I stayed in loungewear until about 2 o’clock when I finally decided to throw on this casual outfit! This sage green tee and mom jeans combo is cute, but it’s very simple. I’ve learned through interviews with some of you, my followers, that one thing you sometimes struggle with when it comes to fashion is accessorizing. All I can say is, same! I find accessorizing difficult too, or sometimes I know what accessories would look cute with an outfit but just don’t own any of those pieces myself. Ah well… what’a’ya gonna do.

Today was super stressful! I was running around all day, and I didn’t even have time to put on a cuter outfit (or take my braids out and actually brush my hair). I spent the morning working for my research position and then had to take a midterm exam online. The test took way longer and was so much harder than I expected! I’m really nervous to get the grade back… Anyway, I literally sprinted to my next class, which was in-person across campus, and then I ran some errands in the afternoon. The school hosted a drive-in movie in a parking lot near campus, so my boyfriend and I made popcorn, bought candy and soda, and spent the night watching Shrek at the ‘drive-in’! It was so much fun.

Friday, May 7 – Sunday, May 9

After my lab Friday morning, my boyfriend and I spent the weekend camping at the Great Sand Dunes National Park. That’s all I’m going to say about the weekend right now, though, because tomorrow I want to publish a whole blog post about the trip. It was so much fun, so stay tuned!

What did you do this weekend? Are you doing anything special today to celebrate Mother’s Day? I really wish I could spend the day with my mom, but unfortunately this is just one of those holidays you miss out on when away at college. To all you mothers out there, I hope you had a wonderful day!

Miles of smiles,

Grace

  1. I love your Wednesdays outfit, Grace! Isn’t a denim jacket a tried-and-true staple that deserves its rightful space in every closet? The shops are finally opening next Monday in Ireland, and I can’t wait to go on a hunt for a proper denim jacket that I can use as my year-around uniform. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day. Aiva 🙂 xxx

    1. Yes, I completely agree, Aiva! My denim jacket is by far one of my most-worn pieces. It really does go with everything!
