It was another week of mostly dreary weather, so my outfits are kind of dark and gloomy to match. But what’ya gonna do?! I captured this pic last Sunday night as my friend and I enjoyed some ice cream in a nearby park, so at least this beautiful sunset adds some color to today’s post. I’m looking forward to spring weather and the chance to break out all my tank tops and skirts again—especially since I sent nearly all of my sweaters home over spring break! Boy, was that a mistake.

After my Statistics and Climatology classes in the morning, my friend and I went to the mall at 4pm to go shopping for a white graduation dress for her. You’ll be proud to know that I walked away without purchasing anything! It was snowing and gross outside, so the mall was a fun lil’ activity for the afternoon. I’m pretty sure I haven’t been to a mall in years…
This outfit leaves a lot to be desired, but I’ve really been loving my new Love Your Melon x National Geographic beanie lately (see the cute lil’ elephant on it?). For no apparent reason, I feel like this hat elevates my coolness level by, probably, 2 points.

Tuesday, April 20
I did some boring work stuff in the morning before my Geography of Colorado and Forensic Psychology classes. Tuesdays and Thursdays are definitely my more interesting days, school-wise. For my usual Tuesday night dinner, the boyfriend and I made tacos and they were SO yummy. We then, of course, watched an episode of “The Crown”, but I think we only have two or three left and are sad to be finishing the series.
This outfit was another letdown. I think the chambray shirt layered under the utility jacket has potential—and definitely throws me back to freshman year of high school—but the snow boots really kill the look. I have some orange flats that would be a cute pop of color in this outfit, but it still needs more accessories to spice it up—maybe some bolder jewelry or a funky purse.

Today was surprisingly busy, as I had my two classes, a work meeting, and a visit from the maintenance crew to fix my bathtub (the stopper has been broken since I moved in). It started snowing in the afternoon, but that didn’t stop me from running a few errands! Since I caught a bit of a chill, I decided to break in the ‘new’ tub with some lavender bubble bath and Epsom salts. It felt soooo good! I know some people think tubbing is gross, but I always make sure to shower first so I’m not as blatantly sitting in my own filth.
This outfit is a new combo, and I really liked the green leopard with the shades of grey and black. Plus, this shirt is kind of short on me, so the high waist of the pants was a good way to balance out the look.

I spent the morning rushing around, trying to finish my blog post and a take-home quiz for one of my classes. After school was done for the day, my friend and I walked to the nearby park to play tennis! The weather was finally nice enough and it turned out to be the perfect temperature—the park was crawling with people after so many days of rain and snow. Immediately following tennis, I had a meeting for the research journal of which I’m apart (an in-person meeting, for once!).
Later in the night, my boyfriend and I tried a new ice cream place near school. I won a gift card to this creamery in the spring quarter of my freshman year and kept forgetting to use it, so this ice cream stop was literally two years in the making! I love trying weird flavors, so I ordered a scoop of Basil Blackberry and a scoop of Whiskey Pistachio Peanut Brittle. The basil one low-key tasted like pesto, and the whiskey one was very strong, but I enjoyed them both nonetheless!

Friday, April 23
Usually my Fridays are pretty chill, but not today! I woke up at 7 (well, more like 7:30 since I kept hitting snooze) to study and then take my first Statistics midterm. Afterwards, I had back-to-back Zoom meetings to crank out a group project and then to train someone new for work. I spent the rest of the afternoon knocking out various chores and homework, much to my chagrin. But, my boyfriend and I did decide last minute to have a lil’ date night, so we sat outside at a local tiki bar! It was so much fun (and still so weird that I’m even old enough to do that now).
I wanted to look cute for going out but also be warm enough, since I knew we’d be sitting outside. Thankfully, the weather was decent yesterday, so this outfit with the star-print tights worked perfectly! I’m wearing an olive green bodysuit underneath the jacket, which I love, and I discovered a new go-to necklace layering combo—this rose gold pearl necklace from Francesca’s and my rose gold name necklace. I felt so cute in this look!

. . . . .
Do you have any fun plans this weekend? What are you grateful for from this past week? I’m thankful to have spent some quality time with friends! Today my boyfriend and I are planning on an afternoon trip to Fort Collins. I’ve never been there before, and I’m not even sure if there’s much to do, but I am super excited for the adventure nonetheless.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Miles of smiles,
Grace
I hear you Grace. At least you try to dress up regardless of dreary weather. I just don’t even bother. I actually also like your outfits. It may be deemed simple or basic but I honestly liked them. Also, I have never tried Epsom salt. Do you recommend? Those ice cream flavors you tried sound very interesting. My hubby would love the one that was flavored whiskey and since I love Pesto anything, I am would enjoy the Basil Blackberry! We don’t have any plans this weekend just going with the flow. Right now, I am trying to catch up on blog stuff while my son is busy playing! Lol

Thanks Maureen! I appreciate that. Epsom salt is nice for ache-y muscles… I’ve found that they help after a hard workout or if you’re sore. I also like them to help with period cramps. And haha yes, the ice cream flavors were interesting for sure!
What a strange ice cream flavors! I never get any further then hazelnut and Cocos. Love that yellow trousers. And I hope you and your boyfriend had a lot of fun.
Thank you Nancy! We sure did!
Any adventure is a good adventure. Sunday was a really nice day with sunny skies and lots of time outdoors. My friend and I did a couple workouts together too and I slept really well.
