Well, the relaxation of spring break sure was nice while it lasted because this week was an absolute whirlwind! I’ve been super MIA from the blogging world, so I apologize for missing posts, not participating in link ups, etc. My friend’s birthday extravaganza, which I’ve been talking about and planning for weeks, finally happened last night (hence the glowstick pic above), and it was an absolute blast! I can’t wait to share all the deets in tomorrow’s blog post, but for now, here are this week’s outfits and a run-down of the past few days. Things should be *much* calmer now that the stress of the b-day surprise is gone, so I’m looking forward to having a little downtime next week to catch up on everything.

Monday, April 5

Looking back in my planner, Monday feels like ages ago! I started my day off with a walk with my friend, followed by my Statistics and Climatology classes. I called my aunt, who helped me SO much with my friend’s birthday surprise, to discuss logistics. Then my dad and I made a trip to the grocery store and juggled a soccer ball in a nearby park afterwards. So much fun!

I’ve worn this scarlet dress and anorak combo several times before, including in this blog post, and it’s such a great outfit ‘formula’ to throw on when I’m in a rush or don’t feel like getting dressed.

I spent the morning unpacking and doing a few other chores around the apartment before going to my Geography of Colorado and Forensic Psychology classes in the afternoon. I stopped by Party City for a few things and then made meatball sandwiches with my boyfriend for our usual Tuesday night dinners. We’re in the fourth season of “The Crown” now and it’s so good!

It was a little chillier today so I just threw on my go-to pink sweater and these grey mom jeans. I love a good pink and grey combo, but this outfit definitely needs some more accessories to really make it pop.

After finishing my two classes, I had a work meeting in the afternoon and then met virtually with a professor at the school so I could pick her brain about her research. Her projects are at the intersection of criminology and geography, which is exactly what I am pursuing with my two majors! It was really cool to be able to ask her my questions and get a sense of what a career in that space would look like. Afterwards, my boyfriend and I made a trip to the thrift store for some party-related stuff before having tamales for dinner and spending the rest of the night party planning.

I forgot I had this neon collared shirt, as it’s from my early high school dress code days, but I still really love it. I thought this was a super cute + casual spring look paired with the tuxedo stripe jeans and denim flats.

I spent the morning writing today’s blog post and doing some homework before my classes in the afternoon. Once I finished school for the day, I worked on a few party things and then got my boyfriend’s help to pack up my car. I spent a lot of my time this week packing things to send home with my dad in order to make the move-out process at the end of the school year a little easier. For dinner, I drove to my aunt’s house to celebrate my grandma’s birthday with my dad and the rest of the family. Most everybody is already vaccinated, so it felt really nice to spend time together like the good ol’ days!

This outfit turned out super cute. I don’t know what I did before I got this black denim jacket in my Nordstrom Trunk Club box because I’ve been wearing it nonstop! Even though it’s black, something about a jean jacket is inherently spring-y to me. These white espadrilles were the perfect touch to tie in the tiny white hearts from the dress.

My friend and I walked to a nearby park this morning and played tennis before my lab at 10. In the afternoon, I chauffeured my boyfriend around and then got ready for a photoshoot because—get this—I did my first photoshoot with a real photographer! She had reached out to me on Instagram to collaborate, so we met up in the arts district downtown for a few hours and took a bunch of photos. I can’t wait to see the pics and share them in a post! Afterwards, we decided to get a beer at one of the local bars, which is actually the first time I’ve been ‘out’ since turning 21.

This outfit isn’t what I wore for photos, but it made do for the other errands I ran today. I feel like I really need to step up my accessories game because this outfit could be super cute if it had a little extra ‘umph’.

Saturday, April 10

Today was SO hectic because it was finally the day of my friend’s 21st birthday shindig! I started the morning bright and early by making jello shots for the party, followed by decorating my car with some of those window markers. I had one of my Saturday entrepreneurship classes from 8:30 until about 4:30, so I frantically drove back and forth to set up the party and pick up my friend after class. I wore this new bodysuit from my Nordstrom Trunk Club experience layered underneath my leather jacket. It turned out to be a super cute ‘going out’ outfit, even though we just stayed in! I also wore purple glittery gel eyeshadow (not pictured), which was a fun accessory.

. . . . .

Since the party was a sleepover, I spent the morning with my friend before cleaning up, running some errands, and getting my first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine! I am so happy and grateful to have gotten it today, and I’ve honestly never been more excited to get stabbed with a needle. Last thing on today’s to-do list is this blog post, so after that I plan on finally relaxing a little!

Thanks for sticking with me through this slow blogging week, and I hope you have a great rest of your Sunday.

Miles of smiles,
Grace
