Long time, no see? I was disappointed to miss Thursday’s blog post, considering I haven’t missed a post in several months, but I have never had so much schoolwork than I did this past week. Usually on the quarter system, we have 10 weeks of instruction, finals week, and then spring break. Well, for some reason that will never make sense to me, the university decided to get rid of finals week this quarter, meaning the past five days were crammed with normal assignments, exams, and final projects all at once. I didn’t think the absence of a designated finals week would be a big deal but boy, was I wrong!

In other news, my mom sent me this green wig as a fun St. Patrick’s Day accessory, and I have to admit, I kinda dig the look. Maybe I should cut and dye my hair for real?!

I spent the day working on part of my Climate Change final, finishing my last Remote Sensing lab, and chipping away at my Cartography final project. I just threw on this simple outfit later in the day to get in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit—this long-sleeve tee is actually a dark green! The outfit is pretty plain, but I think it would look really cute with some statement earrings and a colorful purse, maybe even with a jean jacket layered on top for spring.

As far as courses go, I only had Climate Change today and the rest of my classes were work periods for the final assignments. I spent almost the entire day on my Cartography project, which is a story map about mass incarceration. You can check it out here! I made all of the maps myself and am really proud with how it came together. For dinner, my boyfriend and I made pad Thai and then worked on homework together.

Since it was a little chilly today, I opted for this blue and black patterned shift dress layered under my bright blue peacoat. I’ve worn this combination so many times and it never seems to get old! The last time I wore this outfit on the blog was here.

I crossed off a few smaller tasks from my seemingly-endless to-do list before finally finishing my Cartography story map and then starting the final project for my Climate Change class. Since my mom sent me that sassy green wig for St. Patty’s Day, I opted for this turquoise mock-neck top because I thought it would match the wig best. While green hair would certainly be fun, it would also be extremely difficult to style with a matching outfit every day! Unfortunately, I didn’t have any time to celebrate the holiday and didn’t end up leaving my apartment at all… Hard to believe that last year on St. Patrick’s Day, my dad and I were driving back home with all of my college stuff after Covid kicked me out! Little did we know this pandemic would still be going on a whole year later.

My Sociology class thankfully didn’t have a final or final project, but I had to meet with my professor this morning for a one-on-one discussion about my learning in the class. Afterwards, I got my routine weekly Covid test and presented my Cartography project later in the afternoon. Then I took my Cartography and Remote Sensing exams. Thankfully Remote Sensing went well, but I got my worst grade of my college career on the Cartography test… boo.

As far as my outfit goes, I was excited to pair this navy and white sweater with my new dark-wash Express jeans. I swear they’re navy, not black! When I look at this photo, though, I realize how bland this outfit actually is… I think it could look really cute spiced up with a fun purse, jewelry, and maybe even a scarf.

Friday, March 19

I didn’t put real clothes on today because I spent the day cleaning my apartment, packing, finishing my last project, and taking my last exam. I also made a quick run to the store to buy some orange juice and champagne for my boyfriend and me to celebrate—he just graduated college! (And yes, we are both 21.) We made brunch together with mimosas while starting season 4 of “The Crown”, which was the perfect last hurrah before spring break.

. . . . .

I had every intention of scheduling this blog post Friday night so that it would go live on Saturday, like my weekly recaps usually do, but I didn’t get around to it. And I couldn’t publish it yesterday, either, because my dad and I spent the whole day driving to Las Vegas to spend spring break with family! I told myself I really wanted to publish 52 of these weekly recaps this year so here we are… posting it on a Sunday instead. Better late than never, right? This past week was definitely in the top three times for most stress I have ever felt… so I am beyond excited to be done with the quarter and finally relax a little before school starts again!

How was your week, and which of these looks is your favorite? I have to admit, my outfits are very boring this week, but it’s honestly a miracle I got dressed at all, considering I only left my apartment three or four times. My mom brought me a lot of my clothes from home, so I expect this upcoming week to be filled with colorful and springy outfits as I’m reunited with the rest of my wardrobe! Can’t wait.

Have a great rest of your Sunday, and thanks for stopping by.

Miles of smiles,

Grace

  1. Sounds like such a busy week, well done for getting it all completed! 🙂 I really like these casual everyday outfits – the Friday one is my fave as that’s something I wear a lot when it’s cooler!

And I thought you really had dyed your hair at first, haha!

Hope you had a good weekend! We had a birthday party at the park for the little one with all his friends, it was so much fun 🙂

  2. Wow, this wig looks so realistic! I really thought you dyed your hair. 😀 It would suit you definitely. But it’s probably quite limiting for your outfit choice…

    1. Thank you Frieda!! And haha I agree, makes getting dressed a little tougher…
