I’ve been in a weird, restless kind of mood all week, and the super warm weather we’ve been having isn’t helping! I have some major spring fever and am just counting down the days until spring break—only 13 more to go. Who else is ready for the new season?! I’ve been wearing shorts while working out for the first time this year and it feels oh-so-good… But I shouldn’t get too excited because, in true Colorado fashion, it’s supposed to snow again next week. Anyway, enough babble about how much I’ve been daydreaming of spring—here are this week’s outfits!

Monday, March 1

I spent most of the day tackling some blog ‘administrative’ work, such as creating a media kit, researching how to pitch (and then doing it!), and updating my About page—you can read the new version here. I always have such a long list of administrative work I should do, but I always find it difficult to make the time for that and my regular content creation, which already takes several hours each week. My point being, it felt like I wasted the whole day doing small tasks, but in reality, it’s good that I finally got some of this blog stuff done! (Today’s outfit was featured in Thursday’s Pantone post, if you missed it.)

Tuesday, March 2

I had my Sociological Classics, Climate Change, and Cartography classes today, followed by a meeting for the university’s research journal. As always, my boyfriend and I met for dinner and made chicken alfredo this time—it was so yummy! We also tried a new drink recipe and finally found a good one: 1 part vodka, 1 part cranberry juice, 1 part Sprite, and ½ part lime juice. For those of you who don’t know, my brother got me this mixology kit for my 21st birthday, so I’ve been practicing making cocktails every Tuesday night!

Wednesday, March 3

On Wednesdays I only have class for one hour, so I usually try to spend the day being super productive… In reality, that probably only happens half the time. I spent almost the whole day drawing a card for my friend’s 21st birthday on Monday because she loves handmade items. I went on a walk with my friend in the afternoon, and around 8:30pm, my boyfriend and I went to get banana splits as a celebratory treat because he just applied to law school! I haven’t had a banana split in forever but it was SO good—I highly recommend Bonnie Brae Ice Cream if you’re in the Denver area.

Thursday, March 4

Today was one of those go-go-go kind of days! I started by making a map for my Cartography class and then writing today’s blog post, followed by my Classics course and a routine Covid test at 11:30. Afterwards, I went to my Climate Change and Cartography classes, and at 5 o’clock I volunteered for a virtual campus event to help mentor undeclared students (you may remember this blog post from my freshman year). Immediately afterwards, I had another meeting for the research journal, which finally got approved to be held in person (it’s funny meeting people in real life after having only known them through a screen).

I finished the night by playing some Mario Kart with my roommate and—get this—making Oreo milkshakes in her NutriBullet. Oreo finally came out with a gluten-free version of their products (I’m allergic to wheat, if you didn’t know) and the cookies are so good! I haven’t had an Oreo flavored anything since 2011, when I learned about my allergy, so the milkshake was such a treat. Thank you Oreo for finally making something GF!!!!!!!

Friday, March 5

I spent the morning cranking out some homework since I’ve been otherwise unproductive this week on the school front. It was SUCH a gorgeous day out, so my friend and I went for a long walk around campus before I came back to my apartment and made my grandma’s chile relleno recipe for the first time. (Grandma, if you’re reading this, it was soooo yummy!!) I’ve only just started to learn to cook this school year, but my favorite part is making my mom’s—or in this case, my grandma’s—recipes because they taste just like home. I’m very excited to have so many leftovers; I don’t think I’ll have to make dinner for the next 3-4 days!

. . . . .

It’s another beautiful day today, with a projected high of 65. I’m interviewing a friend in a few minutes to ask her some questions about why she follows my blog (it’s for a school project but will be just as useful for my blogging pursuits), and then my boyfriend and I are having an outdoor BBQ at his friend’s house. I’m so excited for spring and to soak up the nice weather before it snows again next week!

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? Which of these outfits was your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by today!

Miles of smiles,
Grace
