Valentine’s Day Outfit Inspo

Good morning! Keeping things short and sweet today as I share some V-Day outfit inspo. I know I’m a little late to the party (I feel like my Instagram feed has been all things red and pink since mid-January), but my approach to Valentine’s Day dressing has always involved coming up with an outfit last-minute, so it seems only natural that my blog reflect that, too.

I always love seeing all the pink and red clothing this time of year, with cutesy heart details everywhere and heart-themed accessories. But as fun as those pieces are, I don’t really own anything like that myself! My red and pink wardrobe mainly consists of one light pink sweater (which I wear almost weekly) and one bright red blouse. Naturally, my Valentine’s Day outfits usually include one of those items.

I’ve also noticed, that because I don’t have anything too cutesy for the holiday, my Valentine’s Day looks—including today’s—usually turn out a little edgier than the outfits popular on social media. Lots of black, choker necklaces, pleather, etc. You can see some of my past edgy V-Day outfits at the links below!

And for those of you who prefer the more traditional, girly V-Day look, I have a few of those posts, too, including an all rose-gold outfit. See them below:

My dad helped me take these photos the first week of January, back when I was still at home. You may recall from my December 2020 Month in Review that I was given this fabulous sequin jacket as a Christmas gift! I knew right away that it would be perfect for New Year’s Eve, but I also thought about how fun it would be to style for Valentine’s Day. I paired it with a simple grey v-neck and my go-to black corduroy skirt, and I also threw in red heart-print socks as my subtle ‘cutesy’ piece.

What do you think of this outfit? Would you wear it for Valentine’s Day, or do you prefer something a little more traditional and girly? I don’t have any plans for the holiday; I think my roommate and I will just watch cheesy rom-coms with popcorn and candy. Of course, V-Day is looking different for everyone this year, but there are still so many fun ways to celebrate at home. I went all-out last year, trying to fit in as many love-themed activities as possible, and you can check out the post (and all my ideas) here if you’re looking for a way to spend the day!

Thanks for stopping by the blog, and I hope you have a great start to your week.

Miles of smiles,
Grace

  1. I go for comfort typically unless we are going out but always add some accessories and a little perfume (in my case eau de toilette because perfumes give me headaches) to add some romance to the air. We’ll be grilling at home this year so it really depends what I want to wear by the time I send the kids to let us eat dinner in piece: most likely that tunic in my post.

    1. Grilling sounds like a super fun way to spend the day! And I totally know what you mean, perfume gives me headaches sometimes, too.

  2. That red sequin jacket looks fabulous on you, Grace, and your dad did a very good job of capturing many amazing photos. I don’t really celebrate St. Valentine’s Day as I believe that love should be celebrated every day, but I adore people who make an extra effort that day. Thanks for sharing and have a good day. Aiva 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, Aiva! And yes, that totally makes sense. 🙂 Hope your week is off to a great start!

  3. What a cute red sequin jacket, you wear it so well! Also loving the little black feather bag. Can’t go wrong with rom coms, popcorn and candy – enjoy your weekend xx

  4. I love this – it’s different to all the other red and pink outfits that have been flooding IG. Love the sparkly jacket and the way the socks look like they’re matching. Thanks for linking at #WowOnWednesday

  5. That statement sequin jacket is just the best! It look so good on you and is the perfect topper with this outfit 🙂 we don’t really do Valentine’s day here and so it’s not something people really dress for!

Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! Hope you are having a nice weekend 🙂 We are having a quiet day today, after celebrating the lunar new year yesterday with family.

  6. Grace, this outfit is so perfect for Valentine’s Day or any day really! I am dying over this sequined jacket. It is simply magnificent! And your heart socks are so adorable peeking out from your booties. Such a great look, my friend!
