Isn’t it funny how four-day weeks always seem to be the longest?! Monday already seems like forever ago! For once, I feel like all of my outfits this week were pretty cute, so I’m excited to share them with you in today’s post. This beautiful sunset pic was taken Thursday night on the roof of my school’s new community commons building—such a great view!

I threw on something cute yet casual for my day off of school and spent the morning doing homework… yay! In the afternoon, I headed over to my boyfriend’s apartment for a “date”, which was solving this Deadbolt Mystery Society box. My brother got it for me for Christmas, and the best way I can describe it is that it’s a take-home Escape room—inside the box was an elaborate storyline, several puzzles, and a whole lotta fun! I definitely recommend it as a gift or just for yourself if you’re bored and stuck at home, looking for something different to do.

Tuesdays are my busy days, but thankfully I got out of my Cartography lab super early—turns out I already did the same exact lab last quarter for my Intro to GIS class! It put me in such a good mood to finish the day before expected. I took some blog photos before the sun went down and then got crackin’ on my homework—this look will be in a full blog post soon.

Aside from my Remote Sensing class at 10, I spent most of the day working and had a Zoom meeting with my boss at 12:30. For those of you who don’t know, I work as a research assistant for a project about criminal justice reform. I just decided that I’ll be working a lot this summer too as I write my thesis about the project and hopefully get it published in an academic journal in the coming years! Exciting stuff. Also, I tried to take blog photos in the afternoon today but it failed miserably—sometimes that just happens.

Another Thursday, another busy day. I had my Sociological Classics class in the morning, my Climate Change class at noon, and Cartography at 2pm. I also finished today’s blog post in between! After school, my roommate and I decided to walk around the new building on campus, and our other good friend joined as well. The three of us ended up gabbing for nearly two hours on the roof of the building as we watched the sun set over the mountains. It was so much fun!

Friday, January 22

I spent the morning doing my Remote Sensing lab, and it was such a beautiful day out that I sat on our deck and did some reading for school! The warmth and sun on my face made it feel like spring. I had a virtual meeting at 4:30 to discuss taking a position with the undergraduate research journal on campus, which I ultimately accepted… hopefully it won’t be too much work, though! For the rest of the night, my roommate and I tried to do homework but kept distracting each other/ourselves instead. Just one of those nights.

Today I have to get my nose stabbed (aka a routine Covid test for school) at 1:30, then I’m planning to go for a walk to soak up as much sun as possible. What are your weekend plans? Did anything interesting happen this week? Let me know which look is your favorite in the comments!

Miles of smiles,

Grace
