What a busy week! Everything has been go-go-go the last few days as I’ve been scrambling around the house and town, trying to prepare for my departure back to school. Between last minute photoshoots, packing all my stuff, and traveling, I completely forgot to photograph most of my outfits (*facepalms*). But I managed to scrounge up a few photos for this post nonetheless, so here’s my usual weekly recap.
Monday, January 4
It was rainy and super windy out today, so I stayed inside editing photos, planning content, wrapping some presents to take back to school with me, and posting my Instagram photo. After dinner, I sewed a new zebra print facemask for myself, which turned out much better than the last mask I tried to make. In other news, I’ve been breaking in these new(ish) grey high-waisted mom jeans, which are very out of my comfort zone, but I think they look super cute with the cropped sweater in today’s look. Thoughts?

Tuesday, January 5
Today’s outfit was the cutest one all week, so of course, it’s one of the outfits I forgot to photograph. I spent the morning doing a photoshoot downtown with the help of my dad, and I went on a walk and painted my nails with my mom in the afternoon.
At 8pm, the three of us went out to see a movie! It’s been so long since I’ve been “out” to do anything, but our family friends rented an entire theatre and invited us to join. We watched The War with Grandpa, and it was a really fun experience to get out of the house and feel safe in our own little personal theater. I can’t remember the last time I saw a movie on the big screen!
Wednesday, January 6
My last day at home! I spent the morning packing and cleaning, and my dad helped me take photos of one last outfit before playing tennis together in the afternoon. It wasn’t until that night that I checked my phone and saw all the news, so I spent the majority of the evening catching up on the events at the Capitol.
Thursday, January 7
We left the house at 8am and spent the day driving to my grandpa’s farm in Utah, which thankfully turned out to be an easy (and non-snowy) commute. Once we got to the farm, we just spent the evening relaxing and playing cards (there’s no WiFi there!) before going to bed early. I wore this outfit on both Thursday and Friday as we traveled because the rest of my clothes were packed away in the car, and since I had forgotten to photograph this look on Thursday, I slipped into it again this morning to get the pic above.

Friday, January 8
My dad and I spent another day driving the rest of the way to Denver. We lugged all my stuff up to my apartment, went for a walk around the neighborhood, and then scrounged up some canned lentils and rice to make for dinner. Even though I haven’t been the most excited to return to school this quarter, it does feel really good to be back! (Remember when I shared my bedroom tour in the fall and asked for recommendations on decorations??? I just realized that I never ended up adding anything to these walls! Guess it slipped my mind, as things do…)
Saturday, January 9
I got my mandatory Covid test this morning before making a huge grocery store run and unpacking. It’s snowing lightly outside, so I plan on cozying up in the apartment for the rest of the day as I tackle some chores and get settled! I just realized that today’s look is only a slight variation from what I wore Thursday/Friday, so I guess you could say a sweater + a quilted vest + jeans + a beanie is my go-to cold weather outfit.

Now that I’m back at school, I’m excited for my weekly recaps to be more regular and exciting (you know, since I’ll have to get dressed each day now). Although, I’m not sure yet where I’ll take my OOTD photos. When I was home, I started taking them outside in front of our garage to have better lighting, which seemed to work pretty well. My apartment, on the other hand, is not very well lit, so I always struggle finding a good place to take pics (and the mirror pics I took last quarter were never great). So we’ll see; I’ll have to play around with various locations (like in front of my closet in the pics above) to test what works best.
What have you been up to this week? School starts on Monday, and I still have a lot of catching up to do with various chores and blog work before then. I hope you’re having a great Saturday, and thanks for stopping by!
Miles of smiles,
Grace
Thats s pretty long drive. The longest we have to drive is about 3 house from one side of the country to the other. Sounds like you had a good time with your family.
That’s amazing Nancy! I think it would be so cool to live in a smaller country and be able to drive to so many countries so easily.
Best of luck with starting school on Monday, Grace. It’s been a very quiet week in our household. The schools are closed and so are most of the stores; people are isolating and waiting for the third wave of the pandemic come to an end. Hopefully soon. I love your green frogs mug – super cute 😍 Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day 😀 Aiva
Thanks Aiva! I hope things are going well there and finally calming down a bit… fingers crossed.
You are so cute!! Love the fits girl. Things will get better- we just gotta continue to be patient and have hope : )
Thank you Emily!
How fun that your family rented out the entire movie theater! Love all of your outfits this week! I hope you have a great semester!

Thanks so much, Jill! It was a really fun night.
