Casual Christmas Attire

Happy Christmas Eve to everyone celebrating! I’m keeping things short and sweet today, as I imagine lots of people have holiday activities and wrapping that needs to be done. I enjoyed playing dress-up for Monday’s blog post, but I also wanted to share a more realistic holiday outfit for 2020’s Christmas. Like everyone else, I’m keeping things very casual this year (although I usually do, even in non-pandemic years), and I’ll probably throw on something comfy like this tomorrow, if I get dressed at all… Usually I just stay in my reindeer onesie all day!

As I mentioned a few blog posts ago, I’m really hoping for a white Christmas, but the forecast doesn’t include snow until Saturday. In fact, I wanted to take these photos in the snow—I thought this outfit would look really cute with a dusted white backdrop—but I finally had to throw in the towel last night. I ended up taking these pictures before sunset (which explains the slight ‘glow’ of these pics), and it was unsurprisingly very cold.

This super cute holiday beanie actually lights up, but of course, right before I went to take these pictures, I moved the battery pack in the back of the hat and the wire disconnected, making the lights stop. Figures. Hopefully I can get my dad to fix it because I always love wearing this festive hat at least once this time of year!

Originally I planned to wear my red quilted vest with this outfit (gotta squeeze in as much red as possible during the holiday season), but then I remembered that I wore it on the blog just last week… So instead I opted for a black vest and a more understated festive outfit, with a berry lip to kick it up a notch!

Do you have any fun holiday plans or traditions? My brothers and I always share an Advent calendar and alternate days, and today was my last turn to open the little box. Usually the gift is just a piece of candy or a coin, but today I opened it to find a gorgeous pair of vintage clip-on earrings that I can’t wait to style in a blog post soon! Other than that, I plan on making and decorating Christmas cookies today and relaxing with my immediate family tomorrow.

To everyone celebrating, I hope you have a wonderful and safe Christmas this year!

Miles of smiles,

Grace
