It’s Saturday, which means it’s time for a round-up of the outfits I wore this week! Aside from Thanksgiving, nothing very exciting happened this week, and I was very unproductive with my remaining schoolwork… I told myself I should finish it by Tuesday so I could enjoy Thanksgiving stress-free, but instead I ended up taking the week off from everything—whoops!

My mom and I ventured out today to walk around one of my old haunts, a park where I used to have cross country and soccer practice. It’s always such a nostalgic feeling coming home for the holidays now that I’m in college… Every time, it makes me feel like I’m back in high school!

I spent the afternoon having a fashion show in my bedroom and listening to music because duh—who doesn’t do that sometimes? I was mostly trying to plan outfits for future blog posts. These plaid pants are always super cute this time of year, but I never know how to style them because I feel like they only go with so much.

I went on another walk with my mom, brainstormed Christmas gift ideas for my family, and watched “The Crown” with my boyfriend via Netflix Party. I wasn’t jazzed about today’s outfit, but it’s cute enough for a casual day at home.

Navy and White Sweater: Gap, $30, last worn here | Black Vest: JCPenney, $15, last worn here | Skinny Jeans: Francesca’s, $20, last worn here | Blush Quilted Sneakers: Steve Madden via DSW, $60, last worn here | Magenta Headband: Francesca’s, $5

I woke up this morning to find it snowing! The lighting seemed good so I rushed outside to photograph two outfits before the snow stopped and melted (you probably recognize this as my White Thanksgiving look). In the afternoon, I did a *very small* amount of studying and then worked for my research position.

I spent the morning finishing today’s blog post and brainstorming more gift ideas. My mom wanted me to do her makeup, so I tested out some eyeshadow and winged eyeliner—boy, am I not a makeup guru, ha! We ate our big Thanksgiving dinner at 3 o’clock, and both of my brothers and their significant others “met” us on Zoom to share dinner. Our meal included the traditional items—turkey, two kinds of cranberry sauce, rolls, stuffing, and riced potatoes (do yourself a favor and get a ricer—it makes the potatoes infinitely creamier than when they’re mashed). We also had some sides traditional to my family, which included au gratin peas, a corn dish with bacon bits on top, and orange jello salad. For dessert, we had pumpkin pie, of course, and chocolate pecan pie!

After we ate, we played a few jackbox.tv games with my brothers over Zoom, which is always a fun time. My parents and I cleaned the kitchen and then settled onto the couch for the night to digest and start watching “The Queen’s Gambit” on Netflix.

This dress is the perfect Thanksgiving outfit because it’s loose-fitting and has festive fall colors. I’m not sure I love the way the tall socks look with the boots, but since I don’t own any tall boots anymore, this was the best I could do. I always get compliments on this dress, and I actually found that it’s still available in petite and regular sizes! You can shop it in the widget below.

After eating breakfast this morning, my mom and I sat down in the living room and went to town shopping for Black Friday deals on our laptops. Family members were sending Christmas wishlists to each other, and my brother kept calling me to coordinate who’s getting who what gift so that there were no repeats. It was all very hectic and really quite the spectacle! I haven’t finished my Christmas shopping yet, but I’m feeling much better having started.

I wasn’t expecting to love today’s outfit as much as I do, but I think it would look even cuter paired with a red purse and bold red lipstick when I eventually wear this look out in the real world.

Striped Sweater: Banana Republic, $50, last worn here | Straight Leg Jeans: Levi’s via JCPenney, $40, last worn here | White Mules: Rebecca Minkoff via Saks Off Fifth, $70, last worn here

My plan for today includes more Christmas shopping and finally finishing my sociology final… I mean it this time! Which of this week’s outfits was your favorite? Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I hope you had a great week and Thanksgiving if you celebrated!

Miles of smiles,

Grace

  1. What a fun recap! Your outfits are cute. My favorites are the plaid pants and the dress! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and finally got to finishing up your test. My week was also unproductive. I was super checked out on Wednesday and pretty much Thursday and Friday. I am trying to catch up today but it’s proving to be difficult!

    1. I never wear makeup on a usual day but I’ve started to wear mascara every time I take blog photos. Thanks for stopping by, Mireille!

  2. I love that first outfit with the burgundy bag and scarf together, and your thanksgiving outfit is so cute! it’s good you have been able to make the most of the sales! 🙂 I said I wasn’t going to buy anything in the sales as I’m pretty much done with my Christmas shopping but I couldn’t resist picking up even more for the boys, haha! they are so spoiled this year!

Hope that you are having a wonderful weekend! We started putting up the Christmas decorations yesterday 🙂
