I’m only 5’5”, which isn’t horrible, but when compared to a tall family of 6-feet-and-up it seems pretty bad. And I always think my legs in particular look super short. So what is a short girl to do to look taller? Wearing heels all the time is completely unrealistic, not to mention, uncomfortable and bad for your feet. That’s why d’orsay flats are your next best option. 🙂

If you’re anything like me, you probably don’t even know what a d’orsay flat is…at least not yet. See my blue denim shoes in this post? That’s an example. Notice how the shoes have a pointy toe in the front, a heel “cover” in the back, and a space in between, where there is no shoe. That space and general shape is what makes the d’orsay look. And that space in the middle is what helps us short girls out!

Because d’orsay flats usually don’t have any sort of strap across the ankle, they don’t cut off the length of your leg. It’s difficult to explain, but when you look at the front of these shoes on my legs straight on, you can only see the little pointy part that covers my toes. The space in the shoe showcases more foot, which actually creates the illusion of wearing heels and that you have longer legs than you really do. Hopefully that makes sense?

Either way, if you don’t like wearing heels but don’t like to look short either, d’orsay flats are the way to go. You may not have understood my explanation (I don’t blame you, haha) but trust me on this one. These shoes are the answer. 🙂

As always, thanks for stopping by today! I hope you got a little something out of this post, even though it’s hard to explain in writing.

Miles of smiles,

Grace
