If you follow me on Instagram, you may remember me posting a photo in this dress awhile back with a promise that I would “share it on the blog soon”. That was more than a month ago (March 15th, to be exact) but at least I’m finally getting around to fulfilling that promise. I guess it all just depends on your definition of “soon”. 😉
I wore this gorgeous red fringe dress to see the Dancing with the Stars tour with my brother. You probably don’t know this about me, but I’m a diehard DWTS fan and absolutely love the show (especially seeing the costumes). I figured this was the perfect outfit because whenever the stars do a Samba dance, they wear crazy fringe that shakes around while dancing. My dress moves so beautifully, just like those costumes!
The show was at a nice performance center at the local university, so I figured this upscale dress wouldn’t be too out of place. Not everyone who attended dressed up, but there were a few who, like me, wore nice dresses and make-up. I didn’t feel out of place at all (I was slightly nervous everyone else would be wearing jeans and t-shirts).
Funny story about this outfit: at the show, one of the dancers ran down the aisle through the audience. I really wanted to be pulled on stage and shake a bit, since my dress moves so well, but unfortunately I was sitting far from the front and in the middle of a row. As the dancer approached the stage, he pulled up a woman from the audience and danced with her! And the music in the background sang, “Shake it up baby! [Shake it up baby.] Twist and shout! [Twist and shout.]” Man, you better believe I was jealous of that girl. That could’ve been me shaking and twisting in my red fringe dress. 🙂
I didn’t get a change to take photos of my outfit on the actual night of the event, so I recreated the look on Sunday and went out to take some photos. I didn’t want to spend a bunch of time doing my hair exactly like I did it the first time, so I just threw it into a low bun. I went through all the extra effort to curl the fly-aways around my face, and one gust of wind put my work to shame. Figures. 😉
I’m dying to style this dress again, and I know it can be difficult to find other places to wear a fancier dress. So here are some ideas: a really nice dinner, a banquet or awards ceremony, a wedding, homecoming, or even prom! I strongly considered wearing this dress to prom—as I’ve already established multiple times, it’s so perfect for dancing. And y’all probably know that I’m all for wearing a short dress to prom. I think I might even try dressing this fringe number down with a denim jacket and some flats. We shall see…
I hope you enjoyed this post! I had a great time reminiscing on my Dancing with the Stars memories. 🙂 Have a fantastic Friday and weekend.
Miles of smiles,
Grace

Thanks Grandma! I agree, red looks good on my super pale skin 🙂
This would def. be a great dress to be up on stage with!! I would have been sad, too! But, I am sure it was still such an amazing night. Love your hair and that color on you!
