March is upon us, and in my mind this month means it’s springtime, whether the weather reflects that or not. The past few days have been sunnier, though still cold. Hopefully we’re done with snow and ready for planting season! Today I’m sharing five things I’m looking forward to in spring that you can be excited about too. 🙂

Flowers

In the winter, the landscape turns so brown…I take most of my blog photos outside in nature, and the change of winter really reflects in the mood of my photos. All of the backgrounds appear dark and lifeless! I’m trying to be better about varying my backgrounds this year, and you can tell by scrolling through my Instagram feed. If you scroll for a while, you’ll notice the photos gradually get darker and darker—it’s the brown of winter! However, with the return of spring, the color also returns through fresh green grass, fragrant flowers, blue skies, and orange sunsets. I rummaged through some old blog photos yesterday and stumbled across the post of this black heart patterned dress. Look at all the flowers! I can’t wait for everything to bloom again.

Spring Break

Whether in high school, college, or work life, we all deserve a little break by this point of the new year. I’m not sure yet if my family has anything scheduled for spring break, but I do know I have big plans for relaxation. Think reading by the pool, painting my nails on the deck, catching up on my favorite TV shows, and taking my sweet time shooting blog photos, rather than feeling rushed. Ahhh, I get excited just typing this. 🙂 Do you have any plans for vacation?

Shopping

I don’t know about you, but I have major shopping fever. Over the weekend I went to Charming Charlie’s and bought two new pairs of sunglasses (they’re having a promo for 2 for $15!). Now after that, I feel the urge to introduce some new spring dresses, colorful prints, and sassy purses into my closet. There are so many new styles and trends I want to try! I’ve even been having dreams the past few nights of trying on spring clothes. I know, I’m a weirdo.

Fruit

I am a huge fruit person. When I was younger, I was pretty picky and wouldn’t eat meat. But fruit? I’d eat it all day, every day, multiple times a day. While I have grown out of my pickiness, I haven’t outgrown my love of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and basically every other fruit. These yummy foods aren’t always great in the winter because they aren’t in season, but springtime means the store shelves will once again be stocked with my favorite selection of nature’s candy. I even suggested in my Spanish class that we have a fruit party to try all the exotic fruits of other countries! I’m especially looking forward to that.

Prom

For all you high school girls (or even college girls who have spring formals), I’m anticipating my final dance as a high school student. Even though the music generally sucks and the venue is sometimes bad, prom is about the experience—I love getting dressed up, hanging with friends, and embarrassing everyone with my bad dance moves. 😉 I’m planning on wearing a hand-me-down dress from my cousin, but it needs to be tailored. I haven’t found a tailor yet, and now I’m getting a little nervous about the time crunch! Prom is quickly approaching…Anyway, I also need to figure out a hairstyle. I always struggle with hair because I want my hair up (so it doesn’t get in the way and it’s less hot) but that means I have to do some pretty up-do, which I don’t know how to do.

And there you have it! My springtime anticipations. I’m also looking forward to playing in the tennis season, seeing the Dancing With the Stars Tour, deciding on a college, and having some family friends visit us, but those are personal reasons why I’m excited for spring. I tried to pick more general things that we could all look forward to together. 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by today! What are you excited about for this new season? I’d absolutely love to know in the comments below.

Miles of smiles,

Grace

  1. I love this look, Grace. That bag is really cute.
And I know what you mean about the winter. Fortunately, I’ve maximized neutrals in my color palette so bare trees don’t look too terrible.
Thanks for joining the Thursday Moda Link-up!
