Pom Pom Details

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I tried to write this blog post late last night, but the words just weren’t coming to me. So instead, I’m doing it early this morning as the sun rises outside my window. 🙂 Anybody else getting some major spring fever??

Today I wanted to show you these adorable Steve Madden over-the-knee socks, which are still available for purchase. How cute is the pom pom detailing? Over the last few years, I amassed quite the collection of stylish socks. I don’t know why, but I think socks make a great gift and I love receiving them myself. I wouldn’t say that a pair of knee socks can make or break an outfit, but they can take your outfit from “just okay” to “over the top stylish.” I even wrote an entire guide for styling cute socks and tights!

While I do own a few other pairs of OTK (over-the-knee) socks, none of them are this tall. I love how high these socks go! I mean, who needs expensive and trendy OTK boots when you can have socks instead. 🙂 This pair is actually really warm and of course, super stylish. Tall socks like these also mean I can get away with wearing shorter skirts/dresses because together, little skin ends up showing.

The only drawback? Also the height. Yes, the taller the socks the shorter the skirt I can wear (it’s sometimes hard to find appropriate-length skirts when shopping), but also, the taller the socks the less I can wear with them. Personally, I try to keep my dresses and skirts at a length right above my knee or close to it. This plaid skirt is really the only one I own with a shorter length. So, my uber-tall socks can only be paired with this skirt (that is, if I pull them up to maximum height).

But who knows…I might find something else already in my closet with which to pair these adorable socks. I do love a style challenge. 😉
