Get Up, Dress Up

Hey my peeps! Once again, it was a crazy busy weekend and it flew by way too fast…I hardly made a dent in my to-do list! Rut-roh…Nonetheless, it was a very fun weekend. My mom and I saw a play on Friday night and then yesterday I had a cross country race. How was your weekend?! Can’t believe it’s already fall…Where has 2017 gone???

As promised, I’m sharing my homecoming outfit today. And yes, I re-wore my prom dress from last year! Although as you can see, I switched up the accessories a bit and went with hints of navy and pearls—blue eyeliner, navy heels, and a navy purse, plus a pearl Swarovski hair-clip and my flapper-girl bracelet.

The night was so much fun! My two best friends and I went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory after taking a bunch of photos together. The restaurant doesn’t take reservations, so we made sure to arrive with ample time. Lucky we did because the place was packed! We saw a few other homecoming groups but mostly just kept to ourselves. I got a double bacon cheeseburger on a gluten-free bun and it was SO yummy, albeit messy. I definitely muscled through and ate it with a fork and knife, very carefully, to make sure I didn’t spill on my dress. The three of us also split a GF chocolate Godiva cheesecake! I had no idea they have gluten-free options now, so it was quite the surprise. Needless to say, we were all stuffed by the end!

Funny story though: Our waiter was young and kind of cute, so my friends and I made jokes all night that it would be funny if one of use wrote our phone number on a napkin. At the end of our meal, when he brought out the bill, he didn’t have any pens left to sign the check except for his own personal fancy one. He said, “This is my personal pen so please don’t leave with it!” and he handed it over reluctantly. We hatched a hilarious plan to steal the pen, write down a phone number, and leave a note saying, “If you want your pen back, call me!” We definitely did NOT end up doing that…but we laughed about the thought all night. 🙂

The dance itself was also enjoyable, although the music could’ve been better…as always seems to be the case. Either way though, I danced my butt off! I just love to get my groove on. 😉

Are you attending homecoming soon or some sort of formal event? I’d love to hear your stories and what you wore!

Miles of smiles,
