Hey gurly! I hope you had a great Independence Day yesterday, if you’re a fellow U.S.A. lady. You may have noticed that Graceful Rags looks a little different today…Or you may have swung by the blog yesterday and found it in transition. Sorry about that! Hopefully the surprise wasn’t completely ruined. 😉 One year ago today I hit publish on my first blog post ever, and now, 365 days later, I’m revamping my site. Read on to learn about all the exciting changes!

To start, the basic layout has stayed the same but the colors have changed dramatically. I made the banner for the blog title yesterday after many frustrating hours, but I’m happy with how it turned out, especially since it incorporates my three favorite colors (pink, green, and turquoise). I also changed the fonts, but basically all fonts look the same to me so I don’t expect you to notice that.

I think I was definitely telling my dad to stop taking photos while I scratched my face…

I added a new widget to the sidebar so now you can explore my outfits by category. Over the next few weeks, I will be reorganizing my categories and tags to make it easier for you to search. I also rewrote the titles and captions for the widgets, so now everything is personalized, just the way I like it!

At the bottom of my website, I added two widgets—one with my top 4 popular posts and another with my latest 4 Instagram pics. Click on any of the pictures to be redirected!

I finally figured out how to stop the endless scrolling on my home page and made it so only 3 posts show up at a time. Also, I added colorful sharing buttons to each post to make it easier than ever to share my content with friends.

Finally, I rewrote my About page and added a Travel and Link-Up page. Be sure to check them out!

As far as this outfit goes, I wore this look for a day downtown spent with friends and shopping. I’ve been really into red lately, can you tell? My Insta feed has kind of exploded with the color…So now I’m trying to break away from it.

Shop Your Closet: To recreate this look, I think those super popular black and white striped t-shirt dresses would look great. Or a B&W striped tee and black shorts. Or just a polka-dotted item. A red ribbon would work for the choker, or you could tie some ribbon or a flower in your hair. Black sandals and red nail polish (or a bold red lip) would finish the look!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and celebrating my blog’s birthday with me. Also, thank you for following along this past year—your support and comments mean the world to me. Now that I’m done cheesin, be sure to swing back on Friday for my post 12 Nuggets I’ve Learned in 12 Months of Blogging. I’d love to hear what you think of my blog’s makeover in the comments below, and I appreciate your patience—I’m still working out a few kinks. 🙂

Miles of smiles,

Grace
