Happy Friday everyone! Today I’m sharing some photos of what I wore to my homecoming dance. I love getting dressed up but it’s not very often that I have a reason to. That’s why I’m so excited about sharing this post!
I have the best story about this dress. I got it for last year’s homecoming after searching in at least five stores over the span of two days. I couldn’t find any dresses that I liked or that were in my price range. In a last-ditch effort the weekend before the dance, my mom and I decided to check out this consignment shop that was above a fancy designer boutique. I didn’t have much hope and basically picked up every formal dress from the racks. I found this black Calvin Klein one, which looked huge on the hanger, but I figured I would try it. I’m so glad I did because it ended up fitting like a glove! And it was only $50, which was a steal compared to other Calvin Klein dresses and the dresses I looked at in other stores. The dress also appeared to be brand new. It was just super exciting to find this little gem, and I’m glad I got to wear it again this year.
Isn’t it crazy how different the light is in these pictures? Even though the gold-ish ones aren’t the best for showing the outfit, I like the effect. Also, I forgot to take pics with my purse until the very end, so there are only a few with my bedazzled 20s-style clutch.
I’m thinking about doing a post on different ways to style a formal black dress. Is that something you guys would be interested in? Let me know in the comments and have a great weekend!
Miles of smiles,
Grace
