Goodbye Summer

Looking back at these photos makes me think of summer. Sure, the season is still summer, but school is back in session and vacation is over. I’m having a hard time saying goodbye. I just have to remember that there are plenty of things to look forward to in fall, like cooler weather and Halloween!!

I slipped this dress on real quick one late afternoon to go to dinner with my family. I was not prepared to be going anywhere that day, so I had to make a quick turnaround (autocorrect is telling me this is one word). I was not having a good hair day, thus the head scarf.

I had a black dress like this years ago and I wore the heck out of it—as a swim cover up, a fancy dress with the right accessories, and a just throw-on-and-go dress. I had been wanting to get another like it for ages.

My brother’s girlfriend and her sister went through all of their clothes before heading to college, and they let me keep what I wanted from their pile of give-aways! It was so exciting. Growing up, I mainly just got my brothers’ hand-me-downs, so to get some from girls was a really nice treat. I ended up finding lots of great pieces to keep, this dress being one of them. I suspect I will get lots of wear out of it. 🙂

My other brother was totally okay with being in a pic with me. 🙂 Well, on another note, the week is half-way over. Hope it’s been a good one!
