A Fashionista’s Halloween Costume

Happy Monday! I love Halloween and dressing up, so today I’m sharing a costume idea that is perfect for all the fashionistas out there, such as yourselves.

There aren’t that many pictures because these were taken in April before I started this blog. While I didn’t wear this for Halloween last year, I wore it to school when we had a dress up day. It was supposed to be “Character Day” where you dressed up as your favorite TV/movie or book character, but I just wanted an excuse to dress as a flapper girl. I claimed I was Jordan from the Great Gatsby. I just love the Roaring 20s!

Anyways, this is a great costume for fashion lovers because a) you still look super cute and b) you probably already have a lot of the costume in your closet. You just need a fancy(ish) black dress (mine was perfect because it had sparkly feathers on the bottom), some pearl accessories, a sparkly headband, and some heels.

I already had the dress, but I bought the t-strap shoes to make the outfit more vintage. Any black heels would have worked, but t-straps are coming back into style this season anyway. I borrowed the really long pearl necklaces from my mom and played around with them until I found an arrangement I liked. The knotted one looks especially good! Of course you have to curl your hair and top it off with a sparkly headband worn across your forehead. My hair was still short so I didn’t need to do a faux bob. It’s pretty hard to tell in these pictures, but I even have some finger waves at the front of my hair!

It was so much fun being a flapper girl for a day, and I have many great memories tied to this outfit. It’s even better that I already had everything for this costume (minus the shoes). Have fun dressing up!

Miles of smiles,

Grace
